Community Event: Open Mic: February 4, Saturday at 12:00 PM / Poetry Center Docents host an Open Mic Event and all are welcome. The open mic will be round-robin style, which means each attendant will have the chance to share their own or a favorite poem. This event takes place in the Hillman Odeum at the Poetry Center.
Pō é tree: “Ecopoetry- Bearing Witness to the Earth: February 4, Saturday at 3:00 PM / Pō é tree is a partnership between the University of Arizona Poetry Center and the University of Arizona Campus Arboretum and is held under the trees on the Campus Arboretum in front of Herring Hall.
A Closer Look Book Club- “My Brilliant Friend” by Elena Ferrante: February 8, Wednesday at 5:00 PM / To participate in a Book Club conversation, just read the book and join us on the red couches in the lobby of the Poetry Center.
Climate Change + Poetry: Alison Hawthorne Deming: February 16, Thursday at 7:00 PM / UA Poetry Center features world-class poets as they address what overlaps, contradictions, mutual challenges, and confluences the categories of Climate Change & Poetry share with each other in a series of investigative readings. Please bundle up! This event will likely be cold and we will open our doors to accommodate everyone.

Poets Pedal: February 19, Sunday at 12:00 PM / Join Living Streets Alliance, the University of Arizona Poetry Center, and Edible Baja Arizona for Poets Pedal, an afternoon of biking, poetry, and gastronomy. Tickets can be purchased here.
Joshua Edwards: Castles and Islands: February 21 to April 22 / Castles and Islands is an exhibition of photographs from the recent book by poet Joshua Edwards. Taking as their starting point the photo postcard, the images explore photography as a poetic form that engages monumentality, nostalgia, and the epistolary nature of all poems.
Gallery Talk: Joshua Edwards: February 21, Tuesday at 7:00 PM / Meet the Artist: Artist-poet Joshua Edwards will discuss Castles and Islands, which will be on exhibit at the Poetry Center. This talk takes place in the Poetry Center’s Jeremy Ingalls Gallery.

Amos Kennedy Print Sale and Screening of Documentary “Proceed and Be Bold!”: February 24, Friday at 4:00 PM / Join us for a print sale of Amos Paul Kennedy’s wonderful letterpress prints from 4-5pm at the Poetry Center. Stay for a screening of Proceed and Be Bold!, the documentary on Kennedy’s life and work, screening from 5-6:30pm in the Dorothy Rubel Room.
Family Day: February 25, Saturday at 10:00 AM / Activities for the whole family. Creative writing workshops at 10:00 a.m., a breakfast concert featuring Davis Bilingual Elementary’s mariachi band Las Aguilitas, healthy food, coffee, begins at 11:00 a.m.
