Fresh off the printer just this week, the play experiments with the
disorienting and ridiculous, prone to shifting rules, technical issues like pixellation and buffering, and yet finding moments of honesty, intimacy and human longing. VRTU-L is the final play in T.D.’s Veterans Trilogy, that includesQueens for a Year (BAPF 2013) and Beyond the 17th Parallel.

Best known as writer and story editor for the acclaimed TV series “Army Wives”, TD MITCHELL’s award-winning play scripts include A Gray Matter, In Dog Years, and Beyond the 17th Parallel (being adapted as a feature film), and Queens For A Year (World Premiere at Hartford Stage Sept 2016; read at BAPF).

UP NEXT – BERTA, BERTA by Angelica Chéri

Our last Rough Reading of the 2016-17 season – May 8 & 9

Directed by Steven Anthony Jones

From this up and coming playwright by way of the Tisch School, UCLA ,and Columbia comes a searing, sexy new play inspired by the prison chain gang song “Berta, Berta” that originated in the notorious Parchman Farm, Mississippi State Penitentiary.  It is an electrifying, imaginary origin story.
