NWU READING AND OPEN MIC ON FEBRUARY 20, 2012 Features Shannon Cain

The next NWU reading and open mic will be on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. at Fronimo’s Greek Cafe in mid-town Tucson. This month the featured reader will be Shannon Cain. Shannon is the author of THE NECESSITY OF CERTAIN BEHAVIORS(University of Pittsburgh 2011) and is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize, the O. Henry Prize, and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Her work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in Tin House, Colorado Review, New England Review, American Short Fiction, and Southword: New Writing From Ireland.

The evening will start at 5:30 or so, for those who want to have dinner; the reading will start at 6:15. After the reading there will be an open mic (spoken word only). Fronimo’s Greek Cafe is at 3242 E. Speedway Blvd. Tucson, which is on Speedway just past Country Club (heading east) and is located in a small strip mall next to the Walgreens. Parking is in the rear and can be accessed by exiting Speedway at the Walgreens and then proceeding to the mall.
