Susan M. Ballard lives with her husband, Brian, on Blue Moon Ranch in historic Pearce, Cochise Country, Arizona  She is a member of The Society of Southwestern Authors, The Western Writers of America, The Cochise County Historical Society, The Old Pearce Preservation Association, and the Sulphur Springs Valley Historical Society.  Her work, both fiction and non-fiction, has appeared in Chronicle of the Old West, the Cochise County Historical Journal, Ghost Town Trail News, Out West, Roundup, Voice in the Desert, War Journal, The Western Way, and Wild West.  She is a regular contributor to The Tombstone Times.

Susan’s novels include: BORROWED TIME, HOLLIDAY IN TOMBSTONE, DEATH TAKES A HOLLIDAY, KATE, THE RAIDER, AND MURDER IN PEARCE.

S.M. This book is the culmination of months of research by the authors and contains images and information sure to delight those interested in history in general, and in the history of Cochise Country in particular.

Pearce/Sunsites begins before the existence of the town of Pearce and incluse info on the Apache, ranchers and miners and continues on into the gold strike at the Common-Wealth mine and the beginnings of the town. Chapters include the birth and death of Common-Wealth, the people of Pearce, the businesses and the town of Pearce today. The book then segues into the development of Sunsites from its earliest days to the present. As with all Arcadia books, Pearce/Sunsites is loaded with never before seen photos and information.
