RM Vassari & Lucia Olivia Lampe Authors- MALICE STALKS THE LEOPARD BOOK TWO OF THE VESPERS TRILOGY

MALICE STALKS THE LEOPARD BOOK TWO OF THE VESPERS TRILOGY

by RM Vassari & Lucia Olivia Lampe

Thesense of normalcy that settles over The Leopard after the Vespers massacre in 1282 is shattered by the brutal murder of the Archbishop of Palermo and his faithful secretary.  The de Rogerio family becomes the unwilling guardian of a Secret on which the fate of a royal dynasty depends, and Ysabella, now seven months pregnant, is thrust into a horrifying confrontation with a pitiless killer while friends and family members are held hostage by a threatened queen.

Commentary about MURDER AT THE LEOPARD, ‘In this well-researched picture of life in medieval Sicily, an enterprising schemer selects the new cantina, The Leopard, as the scene for two murders that are designed to improve his lifestyle considerable.  Guilt quickly falls upon the Leopard’s likable owner.  His wife must prove his innocence.  The subplot, an Easter pilgrimage, brings together after almost 40 years, four Crusader buddies who share a terrible secret.”- The Arizona Sun

by Cathy Ann Rogers

History!  Mystery!  Murder!

Looking for family among strangers, a woman finds that seeking out distant relatives can be deadly and that some Arizona mysteries are better left buried!

Pilar Sagasta steps into a world of cunning deception when she travels to Arizona to connect with her late grandfather’s sister, Virginia Eager for details of their Mexican history before the family fled the political turbulence of 1916.  Pilar realizes quickly that she made a mistake.  Far from the loving relative she envisioned, she finds a group of odious characters who doubt her motives and want nothing more than to drive her away.

When Virginia dies suddenly, Pilar takes that as her cue to leave.  But when she agrees to investigate after another relative is murdered, she discovers her family has a dubious past enmeshed in unsolved Arizona robberies, foreign politics, missing loot, and murder.

Secrets buried deep in the past reach the present generation and obscure motives in a family where no one is who they seem and everyone has a secret to hide.

Catherine Ann Jones Author- HEAL YOUR SELF WITH WRITING Winner of the Nautical Book Award 2014

HEAL YOUR SELF WITH WRITING

by Catherine Ann Jones

“Heal Your Self with Writing is an elixir for the soul.”
– Psychology Today

Announcing a new book by Catherine Ann Jones:
Heal Your Self with Writing (Divine Arts, August 2013)

Winner of the Nautical Book Award, 2014

Nautilus Book Awards is an annual accolade of books in the genre of social and environmental justice. Established in the U.S. in 1998, it is considered a “major” book award and has been conferred to prominent authors including The Dalai LamaDeepak ChopraBarbara KingsolverThich Nhat HanhAmy GoodmanCharles, Prince of Wales and Desmund Tutu.

Our lives may be determined less by past events than by the way we remember them. Expressing and listening to one’s own life story is an ancient mode of healing. How do we learn to listen more to the stories that heal? How do we put together the pieces of our past? How can we rewrite our life story so that pain becomes meaningful and actually promotes growth and transformation? Heal Your Self with Writing offers a step-by-step journey of discovery and re-visioning through focused journaling, a practice that can enable healing and empowerment. In this way, each reader is able to make meaning out of memory and put the past where it belongs — behind them. Heal the world one individual at a time.

CATHERINE ANN JONES holds a graduate degree in Depth Psychology and Archetypal Mythology from Pacifica Graduate Institute where she has also taught. She is an award-winning playwright, author, & screenwriter whose films include UNLIKELY ANGEL, THE CHRISTMAS WIFE, and the popular series, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL. -THE WAY OF THE STORY

“We’ve become lopsided living only in our heads.
Writing, in order to serve the soul, must integrate outer
craft with inner world of intuition and feeling.”

Rosemary Zibart Author- FORCED JOURNEY: THE SAGA OF WERNER BERLINGER

FORCED JOURNEY: THE SAGA OF WERNER BERLINGER

by  Rosemary Zibart

A boy’s struggle to make a new life in the U.S. is featured in a story for young people.

In FORCED JOURNEY: THE SAGA OF WENER BERLINGER, a twelve-year-old Jewish boy must leave his family Nazi-controlled Germany in 1939 and struggles to make a new life for himself in the United States.  Werner’s journey takes him from Hamburg to New York City where he explores the gritty lower East Side, the posh Uptown, and lively Harlem.  On route he befriends Anika, an upper-class Jewish girl caught in the same predicament.

Wemer’s story parallels that of young people today who are fleeing unsafe or poverty-stricken homelands and seeking a new life in the United States.  Circumstances vary, but the sense of loss and fortitude to survive are much the same.

“It is a fact that approximately 1400 unaccompanied children came to the United States during the years 1934 to 1941.  These children from Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia were fleeing the Nazi regime …  It is a challenging task, considering the range of ages and backgrounds of these young boys and girls, to distill their stories into the saga of Wener Berlinger, but Ms. Zibart has done so with empathy and understanding.  It is not only an interesting read but there were many times in the story when I felt that what happened to Wemer was what had happened to me.”  (Foreword to FORCED JOURNEY by Henry Frankel, President, 1000 Children – who came to the U.S. at age six.)

Rosmary Zibart is a former journalist and award-winning author and playwright.  FORCED JOURNEY is the second book in her series FAR AND AWAY, about young people dislocated and relocated during WWII.  Her first book, TRUE BRIT, about a girl who travels from war-torn London to bohemian Santa Fe, won the 2012 NM-AZ Book Award for Historical Fiction and a prestigious Nautilus Award for books that promote social change as they inspire readers for a better world.
