Attention Teachers!

Capitalize on trends in spoken word and hip-hop to get your students excited about poetry. Help your students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage at the 2013 Professional Development Workshop at the Poetry Center. This workshop is based around the National Poetry Out Loud Contest for high school students, but general enough for all 6-12 grade teachers to benefit from and use in their classes. Benefits incude a $100 stipend for high school teachers planning to register and participate in the National Poetry Out Loud Program in 2013-2014 ⋄ Free resources including a DVD of your performance to share with students ⋄ A certificate for 10 hours of continuing education credit for all participating teachers.

The results will be presented in a slideshow on our website on June 28th, Gail’s last full day in her role as Executive Director.
