DAMAGE CONTROL
by Denise Hamilton

“I thoroughly enjoyed this psychological novel set in southern California and paced with surfers, drug addictions, wealth, poverty and beautiful landscapes. Just felt right at home with a thrilling story as a bonus.
“Maggie Silver is a smart lady with a successful career at Blair Company, a crisis management firm in Los Angeles that deals with handling high profile “scandals” for the rich and famous. She is a self-made woman, her childhood haunted by poverty, an alcoholic father and a hard working but distant mother. In high school, Maggie finds her escape by befriending Anabelle Paxton and her family who live in Villa Marbella with tennis courts, a pool and Luke, the handsome older surfer brother who Maggie secretly adores.
“A party goes very bad one night and destroys Maggie’s friendship with the P:axtons; however, the memory haunts her as an adult. When the now ‘Senator’ Paxton becomes a client of Blair Company and Maggie is assigned to the case, memories flood her decisions, along with Adderall that she has become addicted to. Hamiliton weaves a tale of deception and corruption that does not let up until the last few pages reveal who is the good guy and who is truly evil.” – bkh
