THERE IS NO HERO IN HEROIN
by Janice M. Nargi
My son is Tommy and he is an addict. His drug of choice is heroin. He started abusing Oxycontin when he was sixteen and graduated to mainlining heroin when he was eighteen. This is our story; Tommy’s and mine, his mother. And it is the story of Tommy’s life chasing the high, and my life chasing after him. It is our hopes this collaboration will help strengthen our relationship, assist Tommy on the road to recovery and offer help and encouragement to others chasing as I write this. We pray our story will convince you to chase a new high, a natural high on life.
This story is factual. Names have been changed for obvious reasons. It is graphic. It is real. There is no hero in heroin.
