Odyssey Storytelling- Looing for Storytellers & Double O Story Slam

odyssey@odysseystorytelling.com

We are looking for adventurous storytellers to break new ground!

You and your partner, spouse, officemate, long lost uncle, worst enemy or best friend forever are invited to tell at the July 7 show, “Two Sides to Every Story: Tandem Tales”.

Two people will tell the same story in 10 minutes. They get to decide the theme and how to divide up the time. As usual we will have a rehearsal sometime the week before. Contact Penelope, 730-4112, Penelope@odysseystorytelling.com with your story idea. More about Odyssey at http://www.odysseystorytelling.com.

Double O Story Slam

You can come early and sign up to tell a 5-minute story or just come to listen at our first ever Story Slam. The theme, to be interpreted broadly of course, is “In Heat, Surviving the Summer.”
What is story slam? It’s a contest where people tell real stories from their lives. No costumes, no props, no notes, no music…just the STORY. There are a maximum of ten tellers. Each story is five minutes or less in length. Selected audience members will act as judges and determine which storyteller gets the prize.
This is an all-ages show in a beautiful new venue. Check it out on Monday, June 27 2011, 6:30 p.m. sign up; show starts at 7:15 p.m. at Fluxx Studios, 414 E. 9th Street. It’s free with a 5 dollar suggested donation at the door and refreshments will be available. See more on Facebook.
This new adventure is a collaboration between Odyssey Storytelling and Ocotillo Poetry Slam. Contact: Maya Asher, masherster@gmail.com, 480-390-1063 for more info.
